Connection Dialog
The Connection dialog displays
connection and account options.
Depending on the type of the connection and the associated account, some options may be disabled.
Specific connections and accounts usually have additional tabs for defining their specific options.
Connection tab
- Name specifies the name of the connection.
- Check link every specifies the time interval at which the status of the connection will be checked.
- Reconnect after specifies the time interval after which the application will try to reconnect if the connection was lost.
- Connect on startup defines whether to try to connect the connection when the application is started.
Account tab
- Name specifies the name of the account.
- ID specifies the unique ID value of the account.
- Address is the default address of the account which will be used as a sender or recipient address when it is not supplied in the message itself.
- Total messages sent displays the number of messages sent using this account.
- Total messages received displays the number of messages received by this account.
- Enable account logging specifies whether the account statistics should be logged to a file. Use Tools - Show Account Log option from the Connections window to display the account log.
Options tab
- Session type allows you to select the mode of operation (Receive only, Transmit only or Receive and Transmit).
- Sending attempts specifies how many times will application try to send an SMS message before giving up.
- Request delivery report specifies whether SMS Studio will request from a SME to return the delivery status of the sent message.
- Send cancelled messages on connect lets you specify whether the application should send cancelled messages when this account is connected. Cancelled messages are messages from the Outbox with status Cancelled.
- Delete successfully sent messages from Outbox specifies whether messages should be deleted from the Outbox after they have been successfully sent.
- Use system time for message reception time specifies whether to use system time for message reception time even in situations when the reception time is supplied in the message itself.
- Redirect outgoing messages to account lets you specify another account to which outgoing messages for this account should be redirected. Note that it is allowed to make a chain of
redirected accounts, but not loops. Use selection button ( ... ) to display the Select Account dialog. If you check the Only when not connected option, the messages will be redirected to another account only when this account is
not connected.
- Forward incoming messages to account lets you specify another account to which incoming messages from this account should be forwarded as outgoing messages. Use selection button ( ... ) to display the Select Account
dialog. Note that incoming messages forwarded by using this option will still be dispatched to services. If you do not wish to receive messages in Inbox and dispatch them to services check the Do not receive in Inbox option.
