Options Dialog
The Options dialog displays
the application options.
Select Options from
Tools menu of the menu bar to display the Options dialog.
Messages tab
Receiving options
- Merge concatenated text messages specifies whether to merge
the parts of concatenated (long) SMS messages or to receive the parts as
separate messages.
- Delete messages accepted by any service specifies
whether the messages accepted by any running service should be deleted from
the Inbox.
- Delete messages not accepted by any service specifies
whether the messages not accepted by any running service should be deleted
from the Inbox.
- Play sound when new message arrives allows you to select a
sound file which will be played when the new message arrives.
Sending options
- Send messages
immediately specifies whether messages should be sent immediately. If
this option is not selected messages placed in the Outbox will not be
sent until you click Send button in the Outbox window.
- Send cancelled messages on connect specifies whether to send
cancelled messages when account is connected. Sending of messages will be
cancelled when the connection is lost. This option enables automatic resending of the cancelled messages once the connection is reestablished.
- Delete successfully sent messages specifies
whether successfully sent messages should be deleted form the Outbox.
- Long text messages
specifies what to do with text messages which could not be sent in one SMS.
You can select to send such messages as several concatenated SMS messages, or
to truncate them to the maximum capacity of one SMS, or not to send such
messages at all.
Regional tab
Regional options
- Locale lets
you select the locale used by the application.
- Font allows you
to select the font in which the text will be displayed throughout the application.
- Date format lets you specify the date format used by the application. Consult the
Windows Date Format to see how to make the custom format string.
- Time format lets you specify the time format used by the application. Consult the
Windows Time Format to see how to make the custom format string.
- First day of week lets you specify the first day of the week
used in your country.
- Use Unicode for clipboard, file and database operations
specifies that SMS Studio should use Unicode character set when accessing
system clipboard, external files and databases. This option may be useful if
your system code page differs from the code page used by SMS Studio.
- Separators lets you enter the list of characters that will be treated as spaces in the pattern matching process. See Wildcard Patterns for more information.
Interface options
- Ask to save after creating a new service specifies whether
SMS Studio will ask you for the filename of newly created services.
- Lock windows docking states specifies whether the
windows can be docked and undocked to and from the tabbed pages area. When this option is checked, windows retain their docking states.
- Automatically clear typed message text specifies whether the
manually entered message text should be cleared after use. Regardless of this
setting the text will not be cleared if the text has not been used (e.g. a
dialog is closed with Cancel button).
- Remember typed message text between sessions specifies whether
the application will remember manually entered message texts between its
sessions.
Application tab
Application options
- Run when Windows starts lets you specify whether SMS Studio
should start automatically when Windows starts.
- Run in the taskbar status area lets you specify whether SMS
Studio should keep running in the taskbar status area when closed. If this
option is checked, you can use the Exit option from the
File menu to exit the application.
- Store folder lets you select a folder where the
application will store its files.
- Process priority lets you change the process priority class
of the application.
- Show low memory warning at N MB lets you specify whether SMS
Studio should notify you when it detects low memory conditions.
- Enable system beeper lets you control the system beeper.
- Log application events lets you specify whether SMS Studio
should log various application events to a log file.
Maintenance options
- Delete messages lets you specify whether SMS Studio should automatically delete outdated messages in regular time intervals. Note that messages are grouped by day, week, month or year, and are deleted at 04:00 AM local time.
- Export deleted messages lets you specify whether you wish to export deleted messages.
- Show maintenance warning at N messages lets you specify whether SMS
Studio should notify you when the total number of messages exceeds this value.
Modules tab
Address Book
- Use Address Book specifies whether to use the Address Book for
storing contacts information.
- Display lets you specify what information about the contact should be displayed in the tables. To include desired information use Address Book Text Parameters.
- Create contact specifies whether and when to add a new contact to the Address Book.
- Use contact name separator lets you define
a character to be used to extract
contact name from the incoming message. If the incoming message contains this
character any text that follows it will be considered as a contact name.
Full Screen
- Always on top lets you specify that the full screen view should be displayed on top of all windows in the system.
- Refresh interval lets you specify the interval for checking and restoring the on top status of the full screen view.
Content Filter
- Use file lets you specify a file with a list of words which
will be used for filtering incoming messages. A file may also contain
a replacement text for each word.
TV Chat tab
Interface options
- Draft preview specifies displayed the Chat Preview will be displayed in draft mode.
- Allow Returns specifies whether by pressing the Return key while typing a message a new line will be inserted. If this option is not checked default
action will be performed.
- Move to next item specifies whether the next item in the TV Chat
window should be automatically selected after a message has been added to chat.
- Defocus Moderator Bar specifies whether the focus will stay on
the moderator bar after adding a message, or it will be moved to the list of
the chat messages.
Graphic options
- Thread priority specifies the priority of the thread which
draws the chat.
- Use DirectDraw specifies whether the DirectDraw should be used
for better performances.
- Wait for Vertical Sync defines if the drawing of the chat
should be synchronized with the monitor's frequency.
- Safe delay specifies a number of milliseconds to use for
intercepting vertical sync signal. Higher values reduce the chance of missing
vertical sync, but increase processor time used by chat.
