Outbox Window
The Outbox window contains the outgoing messages.
To activate the Outbox window, select Outbox from Window menu of the menu bar, or use the shortcut Alt+W O.
The columns displayed in the Outbox table are as follows:
- Status - The current status of the message. See below for possible values.
- Info - Additional information about the sending failure.
- From - The information about the sender of the message.
- To - The information about the recipient of the message.
- Text - The text of the outgoing message.
- Time - The date and the time when the message is submitted or sent.
- Account - The name of the account used to send the message.
- Part Count - The number of the message parts.
- Priority - The sending priority of the message. The higher priority means that the sooner the message will be sent.
The status of the outbox message may be one of the following:
- None - The sending of the message has not been initiated.
- Pending - The message has been placed in the connection's sending queue.
- Sending - The message is being currently sent.
- Submitted - The message has been submitted to the SME. The sending status of the submitted
message is being awaited for.
- Sent - The message has been sent.
- Failed - The sending of the message has failed. The SME was unable to process the message.
- Delivered - Delivery report for the message has been received and the message has been successfully delivered.
- Not delivered - Delivery report for the message has been received and the message has not been delivered.
- Cancelled - The sending of the message has been cancelled for some temporary error (e.g. the connection was lost).
- Aborted - The sending of the message has been aborted by the user or for some permanent error (e.g. the message text is too long).
The Action menu of the Outbox window contains the following options:
- Send - Use to send the selected messages. This option may only be performed on messages whose status is None, Cancelled, Aborted, Failed or Not delivered.
- Abort - Use to abort sending of the selected messages. This option may only be performed on messages with Pending status.
The Tools menu of the Outbox window contains the following options:
- Reset Status - Use to set the status of selected messages to None, thus allowing messages to be sent again.
- Set Account - Use to set the account you wish to use for sending the selected messages.
- Protect/Unprotect - Use to protect and unprotect the
Outbox with a password. While the Outbox is protected, sent messages
cannot be deleted and their status cannot be reset.
